An AI-enhanced knowledge management system was deployed to make the firm's accumulated methodology, guidance, and prior engagement experience instantly retrievable. The system combines a structured knowledge base with semantic search, allowing practitioners to find relevant guidance by meaning rather than by keyword.

The core challenge was ingestion. Decades of methodology documents, engagement templates, and technical guidance existed in various formats, inconsistently tagged and partially overlapping. The ingestion pipeline normalised these into a unified corpus, with deduplication and version control to ensure that the retrieved guidance is current and authoritative.

The retrieval layer uses embedding-based search, which finds documents that are semantically related to the query even when the exact terminology differs. This is particularly valuable in audit, where the same concept may be described differently across standards, jurisdictions, and engagement contexts.

The system has reduced the time practitioners spend searching for guidance and increased the consistency of its application. When every practitioner can find the same authoritative guidance quickly, the quality of the work becomes more uniform across the firm.
