FLIGHT MANUAL — DEEP DIVE

A live Tableau dashboard was developed for the audit committee, surfacing open audit findings, KRI trends, and control-effectiveness ratings in a single, continuously updated view. Previously, the committee received this information through periodic slide decks that were already outdated by the time they were presented.

The dashboard pulls from the GRC platform, the audit management system, and the risk register, joining these data sources into a unified view. The design prioritises clarity over completeness: the committee sees the trends and the outliers, not the underlying detail. Drill-down is available for members who want to investigate further.

The most significant design decision was the choice of metrics. A dashboard that reports everything reports nothing. The selected KRIs were chosen for their predictive value — leading indicators that surface emerging risks before they materialise, rather than lagging indicators that report what has already gone wrong.

The dashboard has changed the cadence of the audit committee's work. Instead of reacting to periodic reports, the committee now monitors the organisation continuously and directs attention where the data indicates it is needed.
